Theres no demo for A:M, but they do have a 30 day money back no questions asked gaurentee AFAIK. Someone mentioned sasquatch and lightwave… fromm what I hear sasquatch gets totally owned by the new hair system in Animation Master. Someone mentioned the interface from what I have heard from c4d users is that the interface is pretty much completley customizable and you can make it look and behave any way you want. The ‘Constraints’ system is a really damned weird thing that I don’t like at all, but the introduction of relations in the latest version means that pretty much anything should be possible. For character animation its no Hash:Animation Master though. Other things like editable trajectory paths in the 3d view and the IK tool (not constraint) are really nice as well. The thing I like the most about it is that just about any property can be animated and the stack based deformation tools that make rigging hi rez models a breeze. The materials system kind of sucks compared to blender. The NLA system is OK but nothing really revolutionary (Better than blenders though). Its a pretty nice product, with a superfast renderer (ie: raytracing and area lights dont take forever ect) that produces absolutley stunning output. I have cinema4d CE (xl6 with a limit on rendering resolution). (hash am is cool, but I love polies, and TS 6.6(both have cheap x plugin apart)…well, is nice, but I don’t like the undo neither their bones+weights…) For hi res ppl, yep, it kickass… I prefer it to most mid cost solutions. For you yet Blender is better option (even if cinema was free). So, beware game indy makers(I mean: those using other engines than Blender’s). A friend java coder has seen it and the sdk and says it rocks for the purpose. The update includes major updates to Cinema 4D, Red Giant, and other toolsets, as well as new features and improvements across the board. Just wanted to mention as I myself, previous to buying XSI Foundation, looked several times in maxon’s site to find about formats…Was one of reasons of my decission, XSI has a great x export, as well as dotXSI (XSI has a TEAM for game stuff, did u know that? I read in manuals the other day…) game/realtime export format. An ascii format thought to port much more out of xsi than x. Maxon has released a major update to its Maxon One suite of professional software solutions for editors, filmmakers, motion designers, and other visual effects artists. Maxon’s Pro User Certification can change that. (I think cost bout 700$? can’t remember…) Specially is if has hair (that plugin, shave, I dunno if comes included in bundle…) Whether you’re a freelance Cinema 4D artist or an employee working in-house, it can sometimes be difficult to show off your skillset. If you’re in that field, then I think Cinema is the best in mid cost. That is: seems they keep worrying mainly on hi res, movies, and that. I report good exports of md2,md3, x exporting perfectly (md5 and cal3d, too.I just have not tested) Well, the real fact is Blender can export md2,md3, md5, cal3d, x. No x export! (that is, animated and with weights, at least, last time I checked) That is, yep, seems quite good FBX export, but fbx is only good to talk to othe r expensive apps like Maya, Max or Lightwave… These include core software modernization efforts, a new modeling core, deeply-integrated GPU Rendering for Windows and Mac, and OpenGL capabilities in BodyPaint 3D, MAXON’s professional paint and texturing toolset. But just a tiny tip for game makers…No export of game formats! Redshift Tailored to support creative individuals and studios of every size, Redshift offers a suite of powerful features and supports complex, advanced shading networks and texturing capabilities as required for production-quality.
